Wellington Lions Name 2023 Squad to Defend Bunnings NPC Title
Wellington Lions Head Coach Tamati Ellison has named his 40-man squad tasked with defending the Bunnings NPC title, kicking off next weekend. The squad features All Blacks Ardie Savea and Dane Coles, as well as 20 players who saw the field in Super Rugby this season. After two successful Ranfurly Shield defences to kick off season 2023, the team get their Bunnings NPC title defence underway away to Manawatu, on August 5th.

Wednesday’s side, the first with Ellison in charge, features a mix of youth and experience, with the added inclusion of players from the championship-winning 2022 side a welcome sight.
Wellington Lions Name Wider Training Squad
Wellington Lions Head Coach Tamati Ellison has named his Wider Training Squad, to prepare for the first Ranfurly Shield defence of 2023 against Horowhenua-Kapiti in three weeks. The 38 players will assemble to prepare for the July 12th match at Levin Domain, with a point to prove before the final Lions squad is announced in the weeks following.
Wētā Workshop’s team bring film skills, zany humour and a giant troll to New Zealand’s first ever 3D illusion billboards
A giant troll is set to wreak havoc at two of New Zealand’s busiest travel spots, thanks to the creative work of the team at Wētā Workshop. The animatronic troll, named Jeff, is a creation of the team at Wētā Workshop and is from Wētā Workshop Unleashed, a movie-making tour experience in Auckland’s Sky City precinct. When he’s not out disrupting travel signage, Jeff works as Unleashed’s head of security.
