The Hurricanes have added lock Zach Gallagher to their side, ahead of the 2025 DHL Super Rugby Pacific season, with the Canterbury product making the shift north to join the side.
It was a night for the loose forwards as the Hurricanes and Hurricanes Poua seasons culminated with the annual awards evening.
Of the 11 awards, six went to loose forwards, with outstanding youngster, Peter Lakai scooping two of them.
The winter season at Pātaka Art + Museum opens on Saturday 22 June with new exhibitions showing what can be achieved when art and collective action collide. "Featuring artists from Taranaki and Tāmaki through to Tonga, Fiji and Papua New Guinea, these shows celebrate the shared concerns that connect our region."
There are plenty of exciting events in Porirua this year to celebrate Matariki, including star searching, excellent kai, light shows and planting. The nearby Harbourside Pathway will be transformed with a spectacular outdoor lighting display, fireside stories and buskers. Winetopia Wellington is taking place on 7 – 8 June at TSB Arena. The event features wineries from all over the country and for the first time an international food and drinks section. Almost a quarter of the exhibitor line-up is brand new to the event, with brands such as Monte Christo of Central Otago, Čuvar from Hawke’s Bay and Brokenchack from Barossa. Visitors will also get to discover high-quality Japanese Sake and Filliers Genever (a juniper flavoured spirit originating from Belgium).
