Hurricanes Head to Hamilton for Chiefs Challenge

Fourteen weeks into 2024 campaign, the Hurricanes head to Hamilton to take on the Chiefs for the second time this season as the competition heats up for the teams in finals contention.

Following Friday’s match against Moana Pasifika, the team have freshened up ahead of the challenge which awaits them against last year’s beaten finalists.

To celebrate the opening weekend of junior rugby, all registered junior players in the Wellington region have been given a free ticket to get along and support the Hurricanes as they welcome the NSW Waratahs to Sky Stadium, for week 11. 

Changes to the forward pack see Pouri Rakete-Stones, Devan Flanders and Peter Lakai come into the starting line-up while Justin Sangster is on the bench. Hawkes Bay's Kianu Kereru-Symes makes his first start for the team, named at Hooker.

Hurricanes Named for Quarter-final Clash in Canberra

Hurricanes Head Coach Jason Holland has named a largely unchanged side to head to Canberra to take on the fourth-placed Brumbies in Saturday’s Quarter-final clash. 


Just one change to last weekend’s starting team sees Xavier Numia return to the side at loosehead prop alongside Dane Coles at hooker and Tyrel Lomax at tighthead, with the latter set to make his 50th appearance for the Hurricanes.
