On 24 November, Garage Project, Shakespeare Globe Centre NZ, The Improvisors & Southern Cross Garden Bar Restaurant join forces to present another fundraiser with a difference – Shakespeare in the Garden – The Lost Folio.

A musician will set the scene for the first half hour. Then the actors take over.
What more can be added to the works of Shakespeare? Heaps! The Improvisors will present Shakespearean drama as it has never been seen quite the same way before, and may never be seen again.
“The scenes, the soliloquies, the sonnets that the Bard would have written – if only he’d had more time,” said The Improvisors, “Whether you are a scholar of Elizabethan literature or just someone who likes to laugh, this show will definitely be the most unusual Shakespearean production you’ll see this month.”

In true improvisation style, this team of talented performers will adapt Shakespeare on the spot, in accordance with the audience’s ideas and suggestions.

In honour of the event, Garage Project will be supplying a special charity batch of Full Fathom Five: an original English IPA with a brave new world twist. This beer was first brewed in 2017, especially for Shakespeare in the Garden. Full proceeds from the keg will be going directly to SGCNZ.

To complete the festivities, there will be also be a traditional roast dinner available from The Cross' kitchen, alongside a full menu & other festive beverages. This means that the event is fully family friendly with lots of fun.

“SGCNZ is extremely grateful to all concerned to help us raise funds to present our various programmes,” commented SGCNZ CEO, Dawn Sanders.
