Kāpiti Coast Biodiversity Project ‘We live here’ sign series - Anne Johnston

Kāpiti Coast Biodiversity Project - Website

Working with the wonderful volunteers at the Kāpiti Coast Biodiversity Project, Anne and the Biodiversity team devised this idea to tell people about all the incredible native wildlife hidden on the Kāpiti Coast north of Wellington.

From Pukerua Bay to the great expanses of Queen Elizabeth Park through to Whareroa Farm, the not-so-obvious wildlife needed a little promotion to assert themselves in their own environment.

The Kāpiti Coast Biodiversity Project

Since 2015, they have fostered community conservation projects on the Kāpiti Coast

Their purpose is to improve native biodiversity throughout the Kāpiti Coast on land and sea by:

  • enhancing environmental restoration efforts

  • funding and managing biodiversity projects

  • providing opportunities for public participation in biodiversity, conservation and management

  • advocacy and for education.

Anne Johnston - Graphic Designer

Anne created a series of 2-metre-long signs placed in the environment where visitors can see them, and everyone can learn more about our native treasures.

The Weta sign goes up next month in the hub paddock at Whareroa Farm Reserve.

Anne also created a website for the Kāpiti Coast Biodiversity Project. They aim to improve native biodiversity throughout the Kāpiti Coast on land and sea. See their amazing projects here: kapitibiodiversity.org.nz
