Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved fairytales, Disney’s classic 1989 animated film has been a cornerstone of our childhoods. A hauntingly beautiful love story, Disney’s The Little Mermaid spins the tail of Ariel, a little mermaid with fiery locks and the voice of a siren. Ariel just wants to be where the people are, longs for the warmth of the sun, and yearns to wander freely. When she falls in love with the human Prince Eric, she bargains with the sea witch Ursula to trade her tail for legs in return for her voice. The only way she can regain what she has lost is with true loves kiss.
You’ll know all the songs be heart because Coasters Musical Theatre’s Disney’s The Little Mermaid features the beloved score from the film. Composed by Academy Award winner Alan Menken, sing a long to Under the Sea, Kiss the Girl, Part of Your World, and more until you’ve lost your own voice!
The Stellar cast is led by Kyra Basabas as Ariel, who has most recently played Roxie in the Wainuiomata Little Theater production of Chicago. Award-winning actress and comedian Sera Devcich played the wonderfully wicked Ursula. Devcich’s daughter Mischa and Isaac Clough both play Ariels lovable companion flounder.
